Management of the Ming Tombs by the Qing Government
After the Manchu took over state power, they had the utmost difficulty in running the country. For this the Qing Court adopted many measures to ease the Han people's feeling of resistance. For instance, there was a temporary halt in requiring people's hairstyle and costumes to change, imperial examinations were restored and Han officials were placed in key position,including the management of the Ming Tombs.
