San Diego Is a Great Place for Nature Lovers
San Diego's Sunset cliffs are just beautiful and really need to be a part of any visit you make to this vibrant city. Due to the position of the cliffs San Diego bay is protected from many storms and waves. For over a million years the San Diego River has brought soil and rubble from Point Loma which was originally an island to the mainland and eventually connected the two. Follow the road that runs along-side the ocean and it's cliffs to Ocean beach which is mainly a residential area and make your way to the West coasts' longest fishing pier where you can find shade underneath the pier if the tide is out and the sun is strong. This part of the beach can be pretty popular with surfers when the waves are good, so take note that it may be quite a busy spot.
