Snorkeling Desecheo: A Forbidden Island Off Rincon, Puerto Rico
Forbidden Desecheo Island rises from an indigo sea. Where once pirates buried treasure on this tiny Puerto Rican isle, now all that remains hidden in the sand are unexploded military ordinances. So rather than explore the desolate hills, I snorkel in the off shore aquarium and, in my preoccupation, nearly miss the barracuda eyeballing me.
