Kharkiv is a beautiful city that is situated in Ukraine, just 40 kilometers from the Russian border and is often called "The Eastern Capital". It is the second biggest city of the country with a population of 1.4 million people. Kharkiv was founded in 1654 and was always a transit city for travelers and traders from different regions. The city had a status of a capital of Ukraine for a short period of time, back in 1920 till 1934. There are 60 research institutes, 30 educational institutions, 8 museums, 7 theatres, 80 libraries.
